Text typefaces are those that can be used for long passages of text without causing the reader confusion or discomfort. Some text faces are suited for briefer passages such as decks and labeling; other text faces can be used for passages that require sustained reading, such magazines or books.
The making of a text face requires that the shapes be harmonious, clear, and near to what the expectations of the reader requires.
Versions, or styles or weights, of a text face can often be used as a headline face, so the rhythm and color of the page is unified by the design voice.
